Voluntary Sector Navigator to support the Multi Agency Safeguarding Hub

Southampton Voluntary Services has an excellent opportunity for the right individual to form part the team working within Southampton’s Multi Agency Safeguarding Hub (MASH)

MASH is the single point of contact for all safeguarding concerns regarding children and young people. It brings together in one place expert professionals, called “navigators”, from services that have contact with children, young people and families, and makes the best possible use of their combined knowledge to keep children safe from harm.
The post holder will work as part of the MASH, a dynamic multi-agency integrated team, that assesses notifications and referrals regarding children aged 0 – 18 with specific responsibility to ensure the engagement of the Voluntary Sector.

Initially this post is for a pilot period and subject to a fixed term 12 month contract. The working hours are: 22.5 hours per week and the salary is:– £24,000 pro rata.

Volunteer Development Worker

This is an exciting opportunity to join an established charity delivering support to the local voluntary sector in Southampton. The post holder will have the lead for supporting volunteer development locally through the delivery of the City’s nationally accredited Volunteer Centre. They will also have responsibility for supporting the charity itself in involving volunteers within its various projects and departments.

It is a permanent post. The working hours are: 37 hours per week andthe salary is: – £22,000 per annum.

The Volunteer Centre is integral part of the core work of the organisation and the post holder will be responsible for ensuring the delivery of its’ 5 core activities, which include;

  • Brokering volunteering relationships between Southampton residents and local organisations
  • Supporting a local voice for volunteering
  • Developing and supporting good practice of those involving volunteers
  • Developing local volunteering opportunities
  • Strategic development of volunteering

Applicants will be flexible, highly motivated and able to work independently and as part of a wider team. With a strong background of working with volunteers, applicants should also have excellent communication and organisation skills with strong database and statistic analysis skills. Some evening and weekend work is required.
